Change in SIDEX’s Board of Directors

Welcome Patrice Roy, and a big thank you to Robert Marquis!

The Board of Directors of SIDEX is pleased to welcome Patrice Roy as a new Director. Mr. Roy is an expert advisor on mining policies at the Ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources Naturelles du Québec (MERN). In this capacity, he was the senior editor of the Québec Plan for the Development of Critical and Strategic Minerals, launched in the fall of 2020, and he coordinates its implementation. From 2011 to 2018, he also held the position of Director of the Bureau de la Connaissance Géoscientifique du Québec, during which time he was responsible for planning and implementing geoscience knowledge acquisition work throughout the province. Mr. Roy is a geologist with a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Laval University.

We are pleased that SIDEX will benefit from Mr. Roy’s extensive geological knowledge of the province, the MERN and government policies, as well as his comprehensive understanding of mineral exploration dynamics and players.  Welcome, Patrice!

Robert Marquis is leaving us after 14 years on SIDEX’s board. We thank him warmly for the guidance, vision and advice he brought to SIDEX by sharing his vast experience, in-depth knowledge, objectivity and other exceptional qualities. We were fortunate to have you, Robert, and we wish you well in your other endeavours!
