Frank Mariage Appointed Chair of SIDEX Board of Directors

Frank Mariage has been appointed Chair of the SIDEX Board of Directors.

He takes over from Élaine C. Phénix, who served as Chair since the organization was established in 2001.

“On behalf of the entire SIDEX team, I commend and thank Élaine Phénix for her tremendous contribution to the organization’s development over the last 20 years,” said Frank Mariage. “It is a privilege to take over the helm of a group of directors that has a vision and ambitions for the mining sector. At SIDEX, we strive to always better support companies in this important sector of the Québec economy.”

A partner at Fasken and a member of the Barreau since 2001, Frank Mariage practices in the areas of securities and corporate law, specializing in the mining sector, where he represents and advises mining and exploration companies in all types of transactions, both in Canada and abroad.

Since 2011 he has been recognized as a leader in mining and natural resources law by such organizations as The Best Lawyers in Canada, Who’s Who Legal Canada, Chambers Canada and Lexpert.

Mr. Mariage is very active in the development of Québec’s mining sector and served as Chairman of the Association de l’exploration minière du Québec (AEMQ) from 2014 to 2018.

He sits on several boards of mining companies, has been a member of the TSX Venture Exchange Advisory Committee since 2013 and is frequently invited to speak at conferences.

Frank Mariage earned a Bachelor of Law (1999) and a Bachelor’s in Political Science (1996) from Université de Montréal.
